For instance, a 4" thick piece of foam requiring 33 lbs to compress 1" and return to 4" has a 33 lb compression rating or ild - indention load deflection.

Foam sheets are sold per sheet, not per yard. It is recommended not to open the foam with a box cutter, but rather with a ballpoint pen or pencil to prevent damage. Medium density foam is suitable for firm yet comfortable cushions, boasting high-quality compression and durability for long-lasting use.
