With a compression rate of 44lbs, high density foam provides the perfect balance of cushioning and stiffness. This foam is soft, yet maintains its firmness and support, ensuring that it does not compress too much when an individual sits on it. Firmness is determined by compression, not density. To avoid getting a cushion that is either as hard as a rock or a mattress that sinks when sat on, it is important to check the compression or ild number. Compression refers to the number of pounds needed to compress a piece of foam by 25% and have it bounce back to its original thickness. For example, a 4" thick piece of foam that requires 33 lbs. to compress it down by 1" and bounce back to its original thickness has a compression rating of 33 lbs. or ild (indention load deflection).

It is recommended to avoid opening the foam with a box cutter, and instead use a ballpoint pen or pencil to make an incision. This will ensure durability, with the foam lasting for 7 to 10 years. High density foam is favored for its firmness with a touch of softness, making it ideal for mattresses and cushions. It is designed to withstand harsh weights and last for extended periods of time.

When ordering foam, it is important to know the size and height of the mattress in order to ensure the correct fit. Combining the height of the bed frame, foundation, or adjustable bed base with the height of the mattress will give you an idea of the overall height of your sleep system. The foam does not come with a cover, and a 50% restocking fee may apply on returns.
