For instance, a 4" thick piece of foam needing 33 lbs to compress it 1" and return to 4" has a 33 lb compression rating or ild. All foam sheets are sold per sheet, not per yard. It is recommended to avoid using a box cutter to open the package. Instead, start with a small incision using a ball point pen or pencil for safety.
