Compression refers to the number of pounds needed to compress a piece of foam by 25% and have it bounce back to its original thickness. For instance, a 4" thick piece of foam that requires 33 lbs. to compress it by 1" and then return to its full 4" thickness has a compression rating of 33 lbs. or ild (indention load deflection).

When opening the package containing the foam, it is recommended to use a ballpoint pen or pencil instead of a box cutter to avoid damaging the foam. The foam is expected to last for 7 to 10 years due to its durability.
