Compression is the amount of pounds needed to compress a piece of foam by 25% and still have it bounce back to its original thickness. For instance, a 4" thick foam that requires 33 lbs to compress it by 1" and return to 4" has a compression rating of 33 lbs or ild (indention load deflection). Our foam sheets are sold per sheet, not per yard. When opening the package, avoid using a box cutter and instead, make a small incision with a ballpoint pen or pencil for safety.
