Compression refers to the pounds required to compress foam by 25% and still have it bounce back to its original thickness. For example, a 4" thick foam needing 33 lbs to compress it by 1" and return to 4" has a 33 lb compression rating or ild. Our foam sheets are sold per sheet, not per yard, and should not be opened with a box cutter, but with a ball point pen or pencil.
