High density foam has a compression rate of 44lbs, providing the perfect balance of cushioning and stiffness. It remains soft while maintaining firmness to support an individual sitting without excessive compression. Firmness is determined by compression, not density. To avoid overly hard cushions or sinking mattresses, check the compression or ild number, which measures the pounds needed to compress the foam 25% and still return to its original thickness. For example, a 4" thick foam needing 33 lbs. to compress 1" and bounce back has a 33 lb. compression rating (ild).

Foam sheets are sold per sheet, not per yard. Use a ball point pen or pencil, not a box cutter, to open the package. Start with a small incision and tear from there. The durability is 7 to 10 years.
